Don’t Miss These Pizza and Beer Pairings
Hello, and welcome back to our blog! Here at Five10 Pizza, we have one mission; to bring the highest quality and tastiest pizza to as many Oakland residents as possible. Pizza is one of the greatest culinary inventions mankind has ever devised and, in our opinion, you shouldn’t go more than a week or two without consuming a delicious pizza pie. The combination of cheese, dough, toppings, and sauce form an experience that is unlike any other food option in the world and, with a little creativity, you can find a pizza that is perfect for any occasion. Occasionally though, pizza needs a little something extra to set off the flavor. This little something extra is beer and, in part one of a two part blog series, we are going to cover some of our favorite beer and pizza pairings. Continue reading below to learn more.
Unleash Your Pizza’s Flavor
The world is full of essential pairings. Peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, milk and cereal; all of these combinations work together to produce meals that are better than their individual ingredients. For decades, people have enjoyed pizza and beer together and below we have listed some knockout combinations you should try with your next slice.
- Pale Ale and Margherita: The Margherita pizza is one of the most famous styles of pizza in the world. Topped with basil and fresh mozzarella, this pizza holds a special place in many of our customer’s hearts. The next time you come to our pizza restaurant to enjoy a slice or two of Margherita pizza, we suggest that you wash it down with a crisp, cold pale ale. The light flavor and malt characteristics pair well with this pizza’s toasty crust and will help to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes.
- IPA and Pepperoni: Pepperoni pizza is a staple in the pizza world. This simple combination is beloved by billions of people around the world and, in our opinion, is one of the greatest pizzas in the world. If this is your go to style of pizza, we suggest that you try pairing it with an India Pale Ale (IPA). The bitter flavor characteristics of the IPA provides a great balance to the saltiness of the pepperoni. As an added bonus, IPA’s are known for their higher alcohol content, meaning that you’ll be able to consume less beer and enjoy more pizza!
